Vidya Balan attended the ‘Zulu’ premiere at the closing ceremony of Cannes in Sabyasachi of course. But the skirt of this anarkali was the disappointment as it looked very wrinkled & lacked the flowy grace. Coupled with the loose hairdo which I am certainly not a fan of……………this look could have been way more better.
Aishwarya attended the Life AIDS Charity ball in a sparkling ‘Roberto Cavalli’ gown…………….after disappointing hairstyles, the loose curl locks looked pretty good on her…………plus the gown itself did not need any accessorizing as it had plenty of shimmer. Wish she would have posed on the red carpet in this very look…………Sigh!

Aishwarya Rai attended the amFar’s 20th Cinema against Aids Gala at Cannes in a golden Tarun Tahiliani saree. This outfit was a nice change from the earlier choice of outfits & I love the elegance the outfit exuded. The clutch & the jewels complemented the outfit well but not liking the hairdo at all…….a french updo might have worked really well with this look………….the high updo is again very beauty pagent like.
Fashionistas have pleaded Mallika to cover up on the red carpet…………….this year she exactly did that……….maybe a wee bit too much. In a grey ‘Dolce & Gabbana’ lace dress, Mallika did look beautiful but the volume of this outfit failed to make any long lasting impression. Nonetheless I do like her in a much more classy avatar.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continues her red carpet journey at Cannes as she attended the ‘Cleopatra’ screening. Aishwarya opted for a Gucci gown in satin blue and looked absolutely different in an updo. Never seen her work this look earlier so a change is always nice…………but have to say that this look felt a bit pagent like……….What say people……you like???
Nimrit Kaur attended the Lunchbox screening at Cannes in Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla saree. The mirror work blouse was combined with a pastel saree for this daytime event. Though not in absolute awe of this look, Nimrit did look pretty.

Just as we were starting to enjoy the beautiful red carpet looks of Aishwarya, this look came as quite a shocker to me for this diva. Aishwarya walked the red capet for the screening of ‘Blood Ties’……..the heavily embellished ‘Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla’ gown was combined with messed up hairstyle & a big golden clutch. There was absolutely nothing exceptional about this look…………..unfortunately this is one of the worst looks for this year at Cannes. Somehow felt the outfit was too heavy on Aishwarya, wish she would have opted for a much more slimming silhouette.
On the other hand Vidya Balan continued to floor us with her looks at Canneswhere she attended the premiere for ‘Un Chateau en Italie’………..in another ‘Sabyasachi’ creation this time Vidya combined the outfit with pearl strings & pearl-kundan earrings. The make-up was kept minimal which is how it should be during daytime & Vidya had her wicked smile to complete the look……………LOVE!!
Model-Actress Tejaswini Kolhapure was spotted at Cannes where she attended the ‘Bombay Talkies’ screening. Tejaswini wore a Payal Singhal outfit but the disappointment was her hair & make-up which made the look absolutely shabby. With a bit of highlight to the yes & styled hair this look could have been much better.

The Cannes veteran is back again with style…….Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the Cannes red carpet in ‘Elie Saab’ couture gown. As predicted by IFP, ‘Elie Saab’ had to be one of her outfit choices for the event. A slimmer version of Aishwarya has emerged this year and boy she did make a pretty picture in it. Like the outfit but love Aishwarya’s hair & make-up. The look was kept neat & simple, which made it look fabulous.
Sabyasachi was also one of Aishwarya’s pick for this year at Cannes. She wore the lehenga for celebrating ’100 years of Indian Cinema’ at Cannes……………the hair, the outfit & the jewels were absolutely flawless. Love this look on Aishwarya……Classic all the way.
Aishwarya also looked stunning in a black & white outfit for the interviews before she headed for the red carpet. Loving her new slender look and IFP can sure say that this yummy mummy is back to rule at Cannes, once again.
Vidya Balan also in Sabyasachi opted for a silk saree for the screening of ‘Bombay Talkies’……..the look was different from her earlier appearance at Cannes & different is what we like. I somehow love the elegant Indian looks that Vidya has donned in the past few days………..a few glitches here & there can be ignored since she emerged to be one of the ‘Best Dressed’ in our Bollywood industry. Kudos to her for not taking the gown route & embracing the saree with such class.
South Star Chiranjeevi, along with his wife, son Ram Charan & Daughter-in-law Upasana graced the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival. Father & son did look dapper in tuxedos at this event.
Actress Nimrit Kaur was also spotted in a ‘Sabyasachi’ creation as she walked the red carpet along with actor Nawazuddin Siddique. All I can say she looked good and designer Sabyasachi had the entire day 5 dedicated to himself…..
Mallika Sherawat has polished up her look for this year’s Cannes Film Festival & IFP is more than delighted to see her in couture gowns. She walked the red carpet yesterday in a ‘Dolce & Gabbana’ lace gown………..her hair & make-up were kept simple. I might not be in awe of the gown but Mallika did look pretty in this outfit………What say people???
Also walking the red carpet were the directors of ‘Bombay Talkies’ Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar & Dibanker Banerjee. Anurag & Karan opted for tuxedo whereas Dibanker went the Indian route in a bandhgala jacket. Zoya was seen wearing a white ‘n’ maroon saree with what appeared to be like Parsi ghara motif on it.
Irfan Khan was also present at the screening of ‘Bombay Talkies’ and sure surprised me with his formal look. The only complain that I have is the unshaved look & the drooping neck tie bow. Seems Irfan was in a hurry to reach the red carpet on time …

Times of India Film Awards or better known as TOIFA was held this weekend in Vancouver, Canada. IFP gets you a glimpse at the red carpet of TOIFA and how our stars fared on it.
Abhishek & Aishwarya pose on the red carpet at TOIFA complimenting each other’s style in Indian wear. Aishwarya was dressed in a green anarkali by ‘Sabyasachi’ while Abhishek was spotted in a bandhgala. As a couple they looked nice but I still believe this look would have been much more glamorous.
Nargis Fakhri dressed in a glittery ‘Komal Sood’ gown posed in style. On someone else the gown would have been a total wash-out but Nargis looked ‘Hot’…………..especially the fuchsia pink lips.
Priyanka Chopra dazzled in a black & golden ‘Arpan Vohra’ outfit at TOIFA………..this one is definitely one of her best red carpet looks. The dress is sexy, her side swept hairstyle is fashionable and the make-up is beautiful. Wish Priyanka would continue these amazing red carpet appearances in future too.
Neha Dhupia knows how to work a ‘Sabyasachi’ outfit. IFP loves her military inspired look which was definitely a tough one to carry but Neha pulled this look off with sheer elegance. The pulled back hair, flawless make-up and minimal accessories……..
Ileana D’cruz shares a joke with Prabhudeva on the red carpet………here I actually felt that Prabhudeva looked way better than Ileana who is usually dressed perfect. Maybe this was her day off………………not liking the gown or styling of this look.
Ranbir Kapoor has finally heard IFP’s plead to woo us on the red carpet…………….the man looked dapper in a three piece suit and trimmed stubble. This is definitely how we want a star to be seen on the red carpet. IFP has got at least this wish fulfilled………sigh!!
Shahrukh & Gauri Khan wanted to paint the town red………..well at least their appearance did feel like that. Shahrukh finally opted for some colour by wearing a maroon dinner jacket while Gauri wore a ‘Tarun Tahiliani’ saree. I do like Gauri’s hairstyle which is a refreshing change & it works with this outfit.
Aditi Rao Hydari in a ‘Gauri & Nainika’ gown could have been a match made in fashion heaven…………..unfortunately the reverse happened. I cannot pin point if it was the shiny fabric or the colour that did this look in……..wish the gown would have been in fuchsia colour. Maybe it would have worked……………at least for now this look spelt disaster.
Anushka Sharma wore a suit again on the red carpet…………not that IFP has any complains since she looked so good with those hair bangs & red lips. Anushka was the ‘Host’ for the evening along with Ranbir Kapoor so I think they had a dress code to follow for this event……….but a fabulous girl like her deserves to be seen in couture gowns & Indian-wear………there is always a next time.

Starting since 2012, L’oreal Paris & Femina magazine have collaborated to honour Indian women who have made a difference to our society by their work. Women who have been achieved extraordinary feats in their lifetime were nominated for these awards. IFP takes you through the red carpet of this event held in Mumbai.
Take a beautiful ‘Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna’ gown, have hair & make-up done………then pop in a day wear blazer to spoil the entire look………..that is what Aishwarya did at the event. Aishwarya who is always impeccably dressed seems to be eager to cover up her post baby body. It is a personal choice, but please don’t wear clothes that look like a tent on the red carpet. Seriously I am disappointed this time around.
Sonam Kapoor dressed in ‘Atsu Sekhose’ gown and vintage hair + make-up walked the red carpet at the event. Though the lace bodice combined with printed skirt might not appeal in the very first look, but the styling got me convinced that Sonam did look beautiful. Love her shoes which were so understated but so fashionable.
Aditi Rao Hydari was dressed in ‘Anand Kabra’…….the hair & make-up teamed with the short anarkali looked good on Aditi but it was the salwar that bothered me. I wish Aditi had combined these anarkali with a pair of straight leg pants rather than these voluminous salwar.
Mini Mathur decided to ditch her saree look and opt for a western look in this sheath dress which she combined with a ‘Bottega Veneta’ clutch, a funky neck-piece and golden heels. Black stilettos might have looked better with this outfit but Mini was able to carry this look of well.
Neha Dhupia combined 2 designer pieces together for this look. ‘Anaikka’ top that had detail-work on the neckline & ‘Ranna Gill’ skirt. Now that was something new seen on the red carpet and I must say that Neha looked really good on the red carpet. Only few people can take fashion risks on the red carpet, Neha is sure one of IFP’s favourite.
Shabana Azmi was the red carpet surprise of the evening as she walked in wearing a ‘Manish Malhotra’ outfit. Love her new hairdo which made her look so fresh……..Shabana donned a bright pink colour which women at her age might shy away from, She looked elegant and IFP is loving Shabana’s look for the evening.
Richa Chadda wore golden shimmer ‘Vizyon’ outfit paired with matching heels………….I must say this is one of her good appearances on the red carpet since a long time. I do like her neat, sophisticated look which she worked well……..maybe a bit of ‘pop of colour’ was required but hey that is just me.
Sakshi Tanwar also made an appearance at this event in a saree which had phulkari motifs at the border. Sakshi accessorized the look with earrings, kangan & a ring. She looked beautiful in this outfit and it is a relief that she stayed away from the usual beaded ‘soap opera’ style of saree.
Vidya Balan in her signature saree style attended the event but I am not in awe of her look which had too much printed combined in one outfit. The zari border print saree would have worked better if paired with a black blouse instead. Hope to see Ms. Balan in churidhar kurti look for a much awaited change.

A Saree is something not all women can carry off……… as it requires a lot of attention to details when i come to selecting the saree material, type of drape and how to wear it. Only few women in the fashion scene have done justice to a Saree. This is perhaps one of IFP’s most read articles, so had to add a couple of names more and present the write-up in a new look.
Vidya Balan is the epitome of old time charm when dressed in a saree. The only designer who does justice to her looks is Sabhyasachi Mukherjee whose designs are not over the edge yet feminity is at it’s classic best. In the initial days Vidya Balan did mess up a lot with her looks………………remember the hideous Orange Salwar Kameez she wore while hosting Filmfare Awards……………long are those days gone and I am glad that the lady knows what looks good on her. She does make heads turn at red carpet events with her beautifully crafted sarees. Loved her look in movies like ‘Bhool Bholaiya’ & ‘Paa’ but off-screen she is the one responsible to bring the 3/4th sleeve blouses and handloom sarees back in fashion. In a saree, Vidya could do no wrong and is today regarded as one of India’s Best Dressed.
No one on the Indian Fashion Scene could have looked so hot and sexy in a Saree as Shilpa Shetty did. She has simply re-defined the trend of wearing a ‘Saree’. Thanks to her Designer Tarun Tahiliani, Shilpa has never looked better. The world actually stopped to take a look at her as she walked down the red carpet looking dazzling in a Saree during Big Brother in UK. We loved her red and green saree with ethnic Kundan and Emerald jewellery. I love Shilpa for her originality and the fact that she has been a trend setter all along. She has styled her sarees with halter and off-shoulder blouses for red carpet events. She has graced the ramp as shop stopper for Tarun Tahiliani’s collection for the consecutive 3 years.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
I still remember Aishwarya as an upcoming model in advertisement of ’Garden’ Sarees. No one before her and after her could do justice to the Saree brand. Since then she has graced numerous fashion shows and magazine covers. I simply love her colour selection in pastels and pinks. From Traditional South Indian Kanjeevarams to Crepes to Chiffons to Silks give her any type Saree to wear and she carries it off with utter ease. Women just drooled over her two toned and heavily embroidered Sarees which she wore in ‘Devdas’. Aishwarys gives credit to her designer Neeta Lulla for giving her that look as she portrayed the role of ‘Paro’. In recent times, Aishwarya has worn Sabyasachi and Abu Jani- Sandeep Kholsa sarees to red carpet events.
Her smile simply lights up any room that she enters but when she combines it with a beautiful saree the end result is ‘AWESOME’. Manish Malhotra transformed her into a Style diva when he designed for her in ‘Kuch Kuch hota hai’ . We have seen her in designer Salwar Kameez but I feel she looks stunning in a Saree. The best part about her choice is that she has never worn anything which is has too much of detail work. She keeps the Jewellery to the minimum emphasizing on earrings only. People love the fact that she is always herself in any silhouette and does not have to pretend that she is a celebrity. No wonder how style comes easily to Kajol.
Sridevi has been an example for all Designers in India for the way she carries herself in a Saree. She oozes grace and elegance for which I call her ‘Timeless Beauty’. As a child I remember seeing her in sizzling blue saree in Mr. India or in pastel colour sarees in ‘Chandni’. Even when she is not in her on-screen glamorous avatar I love her simple look in a Kanjeevaram Saree. These days Sridevi has started experimenting with western wear but i still feel she should wear more of Indian Outfits as it suits her tall frame. Designers like Queenie Dhodhy, Manish Malhotra and Neeta Lulla design their creations for her and she has graced many fashion week shows as a Show stopper.
Sonia Gandhi wears a crisp Khadi and silk sarees with such a refinement I have ever seen. She might be of Italian origin but Indian women can learn a thing or two about how to carry a saree in whatever situation you might be in. I love how she combines her saree with a winter coat and uses her saree pallu as a scarf around the collar making it quite a style statement. Even as she is maintaining her style she never loses her dignity and focus that she belongs to the most affluent ‘Gandhi’ family. While other celebrities go in for glamorous looks in saree Sonia has always opted for simple clean look making a unique style statement. Sonia Gandhi has made a mark for herself in the Indian Politics and was third in the Forbes ’Most powerful woman in the world’ list.
This ‘Dream Girl’ has been on the Bollywood scene for more than 40 years but she seems to grow more elegant with the passing years. She might be above 60 years but she can give today’s young actress a run for their money with her style. She was the reigning queen of Bollywood in the 60s and 70s. She made a comeback in bollywood again after a long break of more than 10 years.People loved her look created by Neeta Lulla in recent movies like ‘Baghban’ and ‘Baabul’. She played her age in the movie and has redefined the image of a ‘screen mother’ in Bollywood cinema. A trained Odissi dancer Hema Malini still performs on stage along with her two daughters. The fact I love about her is that she dresses up according to her age and never once worn anything revealing or shabby. Give her a Saree made out of any fabric and she carries it magnificently. She is the ‘Original Diva’ which the Indian audience love, still remember and cannot get enough of. I have seen her personally several times and asked for her autograph and was always awestruck by her beauty. If I were to ever age, I would love to be as dignified and graceful as Hema Malini.
Kirron Kher who is a very versatile actress is well-known in the Indian Social circle for her Saree Collection. She has said in one of her interviews ”I love to wear only woven handloom silk and cotton sarees. While I buy my tusshars from the Weaver’s Studio in Kolkata and tangails from Kanishka, I buy silks and Kanjeevarams from L’Affaire in Delhi, India as the collections are larger, more beautiful and embroidered. In Chennai, I pick up my Kanjeevarams from Usha Ranganathan and from Sundari Silks owned by Rajaram who has good taste.” No wonder she gets that amazing look by going out-of-the-way to find the perfect Saree. I like the way Kirron is at ease when she is wearing a Saree and the Potli/Batua bags she wears matching with her Saree. She says that she has inherited her taste in Sarees and jewellery from her mother Late Diljit Thakar Singh. Well I must give the credit to her mother, for even at this age Kirron Kher rules the Saree collection among Indian Celebrities.
Whenever I think of the beautiful ‘Kanjeevaram’, Rekha is the only celebrity that comes to my mind. This silk silhouette is carried with utmost grace by Rekha since I am seeing her on the red carpet. She adorns herself with classic, traditional jewellery along with beautiful clutch bags on a Kanjeevaram saree. It would be a fashionista’s dream come true if they ever get to go inside her wardrobe and check out her amazing saree collection………….that is one think I would give my tooth and nail for. One of our readers reminded us that Rekha should be included in this list and IFP couldn’t agree anymore.

After a day of amazing looks by the Indian celebs on the Cannes red carpet, I am at ease for the fact that our celebrities do know how to rock at any international events. Day 10 had the bigwigs of Hollywood walk the red carpet for the premiere of ‘Cosmopolis’ that stars the ‘Twilight series’ hear throb Robert Pattison & Kristen Stewart. Among our desi celebs, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also walked the red carpet.
Aishwarya wore an Elie Saab 2011 Couture gown for the premiere in midnight blue color. The mesh fabric ahd all over detail work along velvet floral appliqué at the waist. Elie Saab has been her choice for many international events and I must admit that the designer always makes Aishwarya look effortlessly elegant and beautiful in every look.
The irony of this situation is that international media is loving Aishwarya’s comeback on the red carpet, unfortunately it is just the Indian media that has been pretty rude about her looks. All I can say is that ‘real women have curves’ and Aishwarya portrayed that with utmost grace at Cannes 2012. From fashion point of view, I like the dress, the jewellery has been kept to the minimum and the make-up is all glam.

Finally my wait is over…………..and I am delighted to see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan take on the Cannes red carpet for the 11th time in a row. Now that is a hell lot of experience for anyone. Aishwarya stunned us yet again with her style options this time around when she attended the amFAR’s ’Cinema against AIDS’ event at Cannes yesterday.
Aishwarya opted for a beautiful ‘Abu Jani – Sandeep Khosla’ ensemble which was a combination of a pastel color saree and a heavy detail work blouse. I am impressed at the ability of the designer to make Aishwarya look so beautiful in this Indian attire. I am in awe of the detail work on the blouse which had a lot of traditional zaridosi work and chikan-kari work on the saree……………..It was ‘Indianess’ at it’s best.
As for people concerned with Aishwarya’s weight issue…………….why consider it at all when she still looks this good. People please give some respect to a new mother who has many things on her mind apart from just looking good. Find a better way to waste your time than to discuss such petty issues since we all face similar things at some point of time.
So far this has been my favourite appearance at Cannes 2012. IFP also spotted Aishwarya in a more casual appearance for a photo shoot at Cannes.
Aishwarya opted for ‘Angelo Katsapis’ outfit for daytime………..the black and white ensemble put together with side swept hair. Simple yet very international.
Among other Indian celebrities, IFP spotted Kalki Koechlin in a ‘Sabyasachi’ outfit, clutch and hair accessory. The bejewelled hair band might seem a bit out of place but I still feel no one could have carried off it so well with an Indian outfit as well as Kalki did. IFP likes her style on the red carpet and the fact that she is different from the other usual pouting celebs.
Sonam Kapoor looked pretty in a Naeem Khan polka dot outfit while attending the Chopard & L’oreal bash at Cannes. She added a pop of color with a burgundy clutch. IFP likes her classy look in this outfit and wish to see her in more ‘Naeem Khan’ looks in future.
Mallika Sherwat was also at the amFAR event, I feel she has found an affinity towards the pastels and nude colors. She was dressed in Ali Mahdavi outfit that had a hoodie………………but I am surprised that she could carry this off with such an ease. The vintage style hair and make-up add the much needed glamour to this outfit and she looks much better all covered up……..:-) IFP gives this look of Mallika a thumbs up and appreciates her effort for trying something new on the red carpet every single time.

L’oreal Paris collaborated with India’s leading magazine ‘Femina’ for an award event this week. The event was held in a fashionable style at the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. Here is a look at the red carpet of the event.
Priyanka Chopra wore a ‘Gauri-Nainika’ outfit for the award event in fuchsia color. She toned down the look with white open toe pumps and sparkling diamond earrings to give the entire focus on this lovely color. IFP loves this look and thinks that Priyanka rocked on the red carpet.
Sonam Kapoor never fails to surprise me on the red carpet………………..the fact that we love her is simply because she is always different than the rest of the crowd yet looks fabulous in any ensemble. At the L’oreal Paris – Femina Awards, Sonam opted for a beautiful Anamika Khanna saree combined with an interesting blouse that had a lot of detail work. We are loving this red hot look on Sonam………
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was also at the event with mama Vrinda Rai where both mother-daughter got the award for being the ‘Woman of Substance’. Aishwarya was spotted in a geometric print churidhar while Vrinda Rai opted for a graceful pink saree. Not a fan of Aishwarya’s look since the big prints made her look much more heavier than she actually is………..as for her baby weight, every new mum has the right to enjoy motherhood and shed weight leisurely………..so why let Aishwarya be any different.
Lara Dutta also made her red carpet appearance in a beautiful ‘Rocky S’ saree. The pista green with a golden saree made her look pretty as ever and the new mum definitely glowed on the red carpet. Like the look and will wait for her future red carpet appearances eagerly.
First look at Ms. Ranaut and you are taken back to the 1960s era where Audrey Hepburn ruled the fashion scene with her style. The LBD combined with a signature ‘Dior’ bag, nude open toe pumps and a pearl neckpiece is very vintage but unfortunately I cannot find our very own Kangna in it. Honestly I think channelling a style icon through your dressing is like paying a ‘Tribute’ to them, but loosing yourself in their style is a threat to your own fashion existence.
Dia Mirza opted for ‘Anita Dongre’ design in blue & white. She combined the weave design with silver accessory and a basic black clutch…..unfortunately the look would have been better for a dinner party or evening out with friends. For the red carpet, wish Dia would have gone a bit more glamorous.
Is it just me or does this pretty lady always turn up well on the red carpet at every event. Sophie Choudry looked gorgeous in this ‘Ramona Garware’ gown in fuchsia pink combined with a black & pink fancy clutch. IFP gives her two thumbs up to Sophie for always being so stylish and elegant at the same time.
Green was the color of choice for Queenie at the event…………….the fish scale detailing with a glittery clutch and basic black open toe pumps work for her well. She wears this Diane Von Furstenberg outfit well and after a long time have I seen her look pretty on the red carpet. IFP likes it mainly because of the rich emerald color…
Model Dipannita Sharma went the more adventurous with this ‘Masaba Gupta’ saree in camera print. Funky prints are surely ‘in’ this summer season and Dipannita surely wears this outfit well. Just wish she had skipped the metallic hue clutch and opted for wooden bangle instead to complete her look.
Actress Poorna Jagannathan opted for an elegant ‘Dior’ gown and a monochrome clutch in B/W to match with the outfit. After a series of red carpet miss outs for Poorna, it was pleasant to see her look beautiful on the red carpet. IFP is all eyes for her…….:-)

This week witnessed loads of celebrations due to Diwali festival and this week also saw a lot of celebrity sightings. Here is the best from the week.
Lady Gaga arrives in style
Lady Gaga has arrived in India as she will be performing at the Grand Prix, but what I love about her that she like a chameleon can adapt to any style………….one moment she is a rockstar, then suddenly she turns up at an event looking like a ‘Diva’. She did surprise me in this beautiful ‘Naeem Khan’ designed one shoulder gown…………she looked splendid while she flaunted in this outfit accessorized with diamond jewelry and ‘vintage’ look sunglasses as she attended a press conference in New Delhi. Love, love. love…………
Kareena Kapoor unveils her wax statue at Madame Tussauds
Kareena Kapoor unveiled her wax figure at Madame Tussauds in London. The figurine was dressed in ‘Jab we Met’ avatar and definitely is a high-point in her career to be recognized internationally as well.
As for me, I still think the original one looks much prettier in her ‘Manish Malhotra’ saree………groovy baby.
Ekta Kapoor’s Diwali Bash
Kangana Ranaut took some inspiration from the 1960s to dress up in this peach ‘gotta’ work saree with side swept hairdo and a mini ‘Birkin’………..all the beautiful things put together unfortunately fell flat. Next time skip the bag and opt for a classy clutch. A bit of drama helps but too much of it actually spoils the look.
Someone seemed to be in some hurry………….Tusshar Kapoor was seen attending this bash in a olive green bandhgala which seemed way to body fit………Go easy on the fit, we don’t want celebrities gasping for fresh air due to tight clothes……:-)
Sophie Choudry is definitely emerging to be my favorite on the red carpet……she wore this fabulous ‘Sabyasachi’ gown to the bash and looked absolutely flawless. The understated Bottega Veneta clutch with strappy shoes complete her Anarkali look.
Samir Soni and Neelam did look color co-ordinated except for the jazzy big clutch. Though I like her shimmery shoes……….
Spotted designer Nandita Mahtani in this hot pink saree with floral detail all over. Love the saree, hate the way it is draped and accessorized……..sigh.
Bachchans throw a Diwali Bash
Bachchan’s held a Diwali party at their residence in Juhu where many celebrities made their way to attend this event. Among the invitess were Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sonali Bendre, Raveena Tandon, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Simi Garewal, Zayed Khan and many more. But what was good, that we people got to have a sneak peek of mum-to-be Aishwarya welcoming guests.

Though Day 2 failed to impress me, Day 3 brought new hopes in terms of fashion.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya wore a ‘Lanvin’ brown colour short dress with ankle strap heels for the announcement of her upcoming project ‘Heroine’ directed by Madhur Bhandarkar……I feel the dress was absolutely age appropriate and thankfully not ‘loud’ at all. Just wished that she had worn this dress with a leather belt instead though that’s me trying to style her. Make-up is totally subtle and her straight hair give a natural look. Casual yet classic………….for a day event like this, I feel Aishwarya has hit the bullseye……………I am totally over her Day2 ‘Armani Prive’ look.
Also seen at the photo call were Director Madhur Bhandarkar & UTV CEO Ronnie Screwvala…………though Madhur seems to be ready to ride a bike on this photo call with the jacket look, Ronnie was more appropriately dressed for the occasion in black. Madhur you have had Rita Dhodhy giving you style advice during the making of ‘Fashion’, hope you make it a point to follow it.

Cannes Film Festival is in full swing where Day 1 saw Indian Celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Minissha Lamba walk the red carpet…………….let’s see what Day 2 looks like.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked the red carpet in ‘Armani Prive’…………honestly I am not digging this look of hers since the gown is just not her, it is way too simple…………the hair is too beauty pageant style, the accessories are too less as it would have been helpful to add a touch of bling at least on the neck line. I prefer the Day 1 look over this plain look………..the only thing worth noticing has to be the cuff……..the rest fails to make an impression.
As of now I am eagerly waiting for the red carpet appearance of Saif Ali Khan who reportedly will be wearing a Tom Ford Tuxedo………..hope he surprises me in a pleasant way.
Also seen Hollywood actress Rachel McAdams wearing ‘Amrapali’ cuffs at the Cannes Film Festival…………the piece of jewelery is very beautiful. Rachel seen here with actor Micheal Sheen for the screening of ‘Sleeping Beauty’
