Honest opinion about the Indian Fashion Scenario

Cannes Film Festival 2012 – Day 9

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on May 25, 2012

Finally my wait is over…………..and I am delighted to see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan take on the Cannes red carpet for the 11th time in a row. Now that is a hell lot of experience for anyone. Aishwarya stunned us yet again with her style options this time around when she attended the amFAR’s  ’Cinema against AIDS’ event at Cannes yesterday.

Aishwarya opted for a beautiful ‘Abu Jani – Sandeep Khosla’ ensemble which was a combination of a pastel color saree and a heavy detail work blouse. I am impressed at the ability of the designer to make Aishwarya look so beautiful in this Indian attire. I am in awe of the detail work on the blouse which had a lot of traditional zaridosi work and chikan-kari work on the saree……………..It was ‘Indianess’ at it’s best.

As for people concerned with Aishwarya’s weight issue…………….why consider it at all when she still looks this good. People please give some respect to a new mother who has many things on her mind apart from just looking good. Find a better way to waste your time than to discuss such petty issues since we all face similar things at some point of time.

So far this has been my favourite appearance at Cannes 2012. IFP also spotted Aishwarya in a more casual appearance for a photo shoot at Cannes.

Aishwarya opted for ‘Angelo Katsapis’ outfit for daytime………..the black and white ensemble put together with side swept hair. Simple yet very international.

Among other Indian celebrities, IFP spotted Kalki Koechlin in a ‘Sabyasachi’ outfit, clutch and hair accessory. The bejewelled hair band might seem a bit out of place but I still feel no one could have carried off it so well with an Indian outfit as well as Kalki did. IFP likes her style on the red carpet and the fact that she is different from the other usual pouting celebs.

Sonam Kapoor looked pretty in a Naeem Khan polka dot outfit while attending the Chopard & L’oreal bash at Cannes. She added a pop of color with a burgundy clutch. IFP likes her classy look in this outfit and wish to see her in more ‘Naeem Khan’ looks in future.

Mallika Sherwat was also at the amFAR event, I feel she has found an affinity towards the pastels and nude colors. She was dressed in Ali Mahdavi outfit that had a hoodie………………but I am surprised that she could carry this off with such an ease.  The vintage style hair and make-up add the much needed glamour to this outfit and she looks much better all covered up……..:-) IFP gives this look of Mallika a thumbs up and appreciates her effort for trying something new on the red carpet every single time.
