Honest opinion on the Indian Fashion Scenario

Bridal Couture 2012

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on January 20, 2012

Every year Indian Fashion Police lists down few designers who would make waves in Indian Bridal Couture  and we do get an amazing response for this blog post of ours. Here is our low down on which designer is ‘Hot & happening’ this wedding season of year 2012.

 Varun Bahl

Varun Bahl’s collection had a very Victorian feel to his collection. Flowy fabrics were combined with velvet, exaggerated shoulders. ball gown style Lehengas, the ruffle detailing and subtle detail work. If you wanna channel the victorian era on your wedding day then do opt for Varun Bahl’s collection.

Suneet Varma

Designer Suneet Varma showcased his recent Bridal Collection at the Delhi Couture Week and all I can say that I was ‘F-L-O-O-R-E-D’ after seeing the bridal colors with a touch of glam & sophistication. The very contemporary collection had a range of sarees, lehengas, gowns, jackets, Anarkali………….there was an outfit would fit every bridal occasion like Cocktails, Mehendi, Pheras and the Reception, in short this collection was a complete ‘Bridal Trousseau’ pack. What more could a bride-to-be ask for her big day. Lace, shimmer and detail work were the focus of this collection. Definitely worth checking Suneet Varma’s recent Bridal Collection if you are hunting for a very contemporary Bridal Trousseau.

Ashima-Leena

The Designer Duo Ashima & Leena unveiled their recent most Bridal wear at Delhi Couture Week, the simplicity of their collection caught my eye. The use of sheer fabric with delicate detail & brocade work was awesome. The collection has a regal air to it. Indian Fashion Police recommends this collection for the year 2012 for brides-to-be who want a simple yet classic look in their Bridal wear.

Tarun Tahiliani

Tarun Tahiliani still works wonders when it comes down to Bridal wear. The grandeur can only be seen in his work that is sure to make any bride stand out of the rest. This year Tarun focused on darker colors in his bridalwear collection. The trademark ‘Ambi’ motif is seen in most the detailwork in his designs. For a wedding outfit which you would like to pass on to your next generation, Tarun Tahiliani is the answer to your prayers.

Best Dressed 2011

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on December 1, 2011

Every year ‘Indian Fashion Police’ picks out the ‘Best Dressed’ people in India. Had many celebs on my mind who stood out on the red carpet but only few managed to make it to this list. We tell you why these people made it to this list, so here goes….’BEST DRESSED 2011′

Sonam Kapoor

This pretty lady has made us proud at Cannes 2011 with her choices which stood out of the usual. She is fresh, ready to experiment with her looks and head-to-toes a style diva. I love her fashion choices so much that I am featuring her in this list second time in a row. Sarees, Anarkali, gown, trousers, dress…………dress her up in any outfit and she makes it rock.

Imran Khan

Men in Bollywood have competition when it comes down to style………….Imran who is from this generation of actor not only entertains well on the silver screen but dresses well on the red carpet. His style is young, sophisticated and fun……….all at one which he always manages to get right. This year we have seen Imran in a bandhgala during his wedding, suits, tuxedos, casual wear and managed to rock every ensemble……that’s why he makes it to this list.

Sophie Choudry

Surprise, surprise………….Sophie Choudry who lately has been seen more on the red carpet this year was one of the few women who knew what looks good on her. Her emphasis is always more on the outfit while aceesories & shoes are kept simple. She is one of the few celebs whose dressing style does not scream for attention. She carries every silhouette with utmost ease and grace.

Freida Pinto

She has been making waves in Hollywood………..not just for her films, but for her red carpet appearances. She is young, smart and very fashionable when it comes to her style. Love the designer outfits she chooses everytime she has to attend a big event………..the hair, the accessories, the outfit and the shoes……….she gets it all right.

Twinkle Khanna

Mrs. Khiladi, we are a fan of your style……..despite leaving movies, Twinkle still manages to grab attention on every red carpet event for the outfits that she wears. Now here is someone who dresses her age and thankfully is not obsessed with looking like a teenager. Twinkle’s style is all about color……..she surprises you by wearing the most bright color and she looks absolutely stunning in it. She picks up the most classic outfits that do just to her body, adds in a bit of bling and voila……….Twinkle to ready to make heads turn. And oh she also has Akshay Kumar as her arm candy at these events…………….do we need any more reasons not to feature her here??

Siddhartha Mallya

Siddhartha Mallya might be just starting out with his appearances on the red carpet but he sure looks good. He takes dressing up quite seriously be it a casual party, a major event or a cricket match. He is young and has a long way to go before he is a bonafide celebrity, but for now I have a feeling he will make a lasting impression when it is about fashion.

Dia Mirza

If I was ever asked to define the looks of a princess, Dia would be my answer. Sweet, elegant and charming lady knows how to dress well for every occasion. She can carry off pastels with the same grace as any bright color. I have never seen her dress like a christmas tree unlike many celebs………..her style is minimalistic & classic. Plus she always has a smile on her face which is the best accessory.

Rahul Khanna

Rahul Khanna might not be that big on the movie scene, but he sure knows how to impress the ladies with his style. I admire the way this man takes risks with his fashion choices. Who else can carry a shiny dinner jacket and still look awesome. Even when he hosts any event, he looks way better than the top celebrities. ‘Effortless’ is the word I use to describe his sense of style.

How to look good while you are expecting?

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on November 25, 2011

Who says woman who are expecting cannot look stylish? Here are few celebrities who have rocked in every type of silhouette while proudly showing off their baby bump.

Embrace layers but don’t go overboard with adding too much of fabric in order to hide the baby bump. You might just end up making it look more prominent. Try the traditional silhouette like an ‘Anarkali’  which will help you to show off the bump in a subtle manner. Lara Dutta does look graceful in the ‘Anarkali’ above at a recent event.

Opt for brighter shades to peep up your mood since one might get alot of mood swings during this happy. Channel happy mood by wearing cheerful colors like yellows, reds and pinks. You can also try wearing floral prints but avoid larger prints and gloomy shades. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who has recently delivered a baby girl, knew how to look cheerful & glowing in a rani pink saree.

Avoid too fitted silhouette since you might wanna announce to the world in a delicate manner. So try flowy fabric like crepes, silk, chiffons, cotton instead of clingy ones. Padma Lakshmi definitely knows how to flaunt her baby bump in a satin top paired with black leggings & boots.

Show of other assets as well which you might end up not focusing on like your legs, your toned arms or your sexy decolletage. Put on your best accessories and shoes  while you walk out that door beaming with confidence. Love Karisma’s look wherein she gave emphasis on her legs by wearing a churidhar that also helped her look slimmer.

Shoes play a very important role for all ‘mother-to-be’ since during these times comfort is top priority. Try platform which do not exceed more than 1 & 1/2 inch, ballerinas or flat sandals. Proper grip of the shoe is a must since that minimizes the risk of falling. There are so many variety of shoes available for expecting mothers in a wide variety of colors. Kajol wore comfortable golden platform slip-ons at a book launch while she was expecting.

Celebrities who work the ‘Gown’ trend

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on November 14, 2011

Bipasha Basu

Bipasha Basu should be known as ‘The Body’ of Bollywood as this lady has transformed herself  from flab to fab and continues to do better. She looked amazing on the red carpet whenever she has donned a gown…………she has the grace and of course the looks to carry off  this silhouette with utmost ease. Hence she makes it to our list of the Bollywood celebs who work the gown trend so fabulously.

Freida Pinto

Freida Pinto who has been making waves in Hollywood for her style and looks, definitely does justice to the ‘Gown’ trend. Her choices of designers as well as the color & the ‘fit’ of the gown. IFP does give 2 thumbs up for this lady who has the poise to carry off a gown and is able to woo everyone on the International red carpet.

Dia Mirza

She might not have many Bollywood ‘hits’ under her belt, but she is definitely a ‘Hit’ when it comes to her look on the red carpet. She makes the simplest silhouette look amazing on the red carpet. The hair is perfect, the  jewelry awesome, the dress is gorgeous………..sheer perfection. That is why she makes it to this list.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam made us proud with her choice of ‘Jean Paul Gaultier’ gown at the Cannes and continnues this trend at home too. Dress her up in any designer creation and she carries it off flawlessly. Plus her selection of accessories, shoes and clutch are ‘to die for’. A true fashionista, she can transform from ‘Vintage’ to ‘Contemporary’ in no time. She always adds that elemnt of ‘fun’ in every look of hers and has been the most refreshing change on the red carpet.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

She was the first ‘Indian’ celebrity to walk the Cannes red carpet wearing a gown and evven after 10 years she works this trend fabulously. Aishwarya made other ladies take this silhouette more seriously since her Miss World days and has experimented with so many styles. From Armani Prive to Roberto Cavalli………..he has dressed in the best designer ensemble and turned heads everywhere she went. I don’t think this list would be complete without her.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone who was a model before she entered Bollywood, looks alluring in any gown. Her tall, slender stature is best suited for this silhouette. She has tried many gown styles like one shoulder, off-shoulders, halter neckline and we have digged every single look of hers. She has also walked down the runway in numerous gown creations by the leading designers of India.

Hello! Hall of Fame Awards 2011

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on November 10, 2011

Hello! magazine had organized ‘Hall of Fame’ Awards at the Trident hotel in Mumbai and all the fame monsters made their presence felt wearing the most stylish designer. A glimpse of the red carpet of this event.

Deepika Padukone looked red hot in this feiry red ensemble by designer ‘Gauri-Nainika’………the structured hair do, the make-up and the dress of course, all looked fabulous. L-O-V-E this look…………..this is what celebs should look like when they walk down the red carpet at any award event.

Kajol walked the red carpet in a ‘Manish Malhotra’ saree but had me on the earrings which were somehow not looking well co-ordinated with the outfit. Wish she would have opted for chandelier jadau earrings and cut out the net sleeves. The saree though was a pretty one. The clutch is of ‘Malaga’ by Malini Agarwala who has also featured in our ‘Interview with Designer’

SRK who I think would be dressed in a Karan Johar-Varun Bahl creation worked the 3-piece suit well. I dig his choice of sleek suits which are always well fit and stylish. Black remains his color of choice but how about trying Monochromatic prints for a change?

Sonam Kapoor walked the red carpet in a Gucci gown which somehow felt flat on this lovely lady. Have seen Sonam do better but here the  ‘out-of-place’ hair spoils the entire look plus the oversized clutch is no good either. Wish Sonam would have opted for a pulled back hairdo and a glittery tiny clutch for complete her look.

Karisma knows how to stunn fashionistas when she walked in wearing this LBD. She remains my eternal favorite celeb who knows what actually looks good on her. The pulled back hair works well plus the make-up is subtle. Karisma is looking every bit ‘Divalicious’. See her full length pic below and be a judge about the looks of the 2 pretty ladies

Women love men who are always sharply dressed………………………..no wonder why we cannot get enough of Rahul Khanna. Only he could carry off this shiny grey jacket and make it look so good. Me liking this look…………and you?

Jacqueline Fernandez wore a ‘Givenchy’ feather dress with a lace belt but funnily even her hairdo is styled like the feathers. She looks stylish and does absolute justice to this outfit. Like it……..

Madhoo in a ‘Herve Leger’ outfit but the bright color clutch is quite a distraction. The print ‘Herve Leger’ is enough to grab attention……………..the ‘pop of color’ was not needed. Other things aside,  Madhoo does look good in this outfit.

Queenie Singh in a ‘Jatin Varma’ dress certainly looks good. Thank god she did not opt for one of those short dresses……..this print dress from Jatin Varma’s  recent collection compliments her body yet makes her look like a ‘Diva’………..Way to go Queenie.

Gayatri Oberoi wore a black off shoulder gown with emerald jewelry but the improper fit of the silhouette marred the entire look for this beautiful lady. Plus the accessories and the clutch are not of much help too. But I do like the fact that Gayatri dresses up very gracefully on the red carpet.

‘Abu-Sandeep’ the label celebrates 25 Years

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on November 9, 2011

Renowned designers Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla celebrated 25 years in fashion business in Mumbai where many celebreties were invited. The designer duo associated this big event with ‘Moet & Chandon’ and the party took place at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. Here is a look at who attended this big event:

Mum-to-be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan suprised everyone by making an appearance at this event along with hubby Abhishek. She glowed in a Black & Golden outfit by Abu-Sandeep and marked a perfect 10 with flat joothis in the same combination. Abhishek on the other hand needs to ditch the leather jacket look where he is neither formal nor sporty. A clash between the 2 looks spells disaster on the red carpet……….Abhishek we love you more in a formal look, sporty look is just not for you.

Dimple Kapadia and daughter Twinkle Khanna also dazzled the red carpet  in their respective Abu-Sandeep outfits. Both of them have been muses for Abu-Sandeep and loved fabulous in this off-white ensembles.

Kudos to Twinkle for adding a ‘pop of color’ via her ‘Bottega Veneta’ clutch and Jewelry……………she did rock the red carpet.

Is someone trying hard to get attention of the shutter-bugs??? Well Sonali definitely got our attention when she posed in this mis-match saree outfit. The detail work on the blouse is beautiful but when combined with this saree made way for red carpet disaster. Not liking the look where the hair is a mess, the saree pallu is draped just for the heck of it……………..as for the Shristhi Behl and Ali Zafar they seemed to have a good time at the party….:-)

Sussane Roshan attended the event D & G lace dress which was unfortunately paired with wrong shoes & clutch. The nude peep toes and the huge clutch seemed out-of-place and made the look feel more bulky. Since the simple lace dress calls for more drama, Sussane could have paired this outfit with a glitter clutch and shoes in black.

As elegant as Kirron Kher is, at this event she looked a bit in a hurry with the hair & jewelry totally out of place. May be it was a bad hair day for Ms. Kher who is usually dressed in the most classic way. Still like her choices of saree and the way she carries them……….sigh.

Here is someone with ’18 till I die’ spirit…………….Queenie Singh has the body women of her age would envy but unfortunately her choice of teeny-tiny outfits makes her a fashion disaster. The element of grace is missing in her styling…………….Queenie needs to dress in a more elegant manner if she needs to make a fashion statement.

Making a rare appearance on the red carpet was Sangeeta Bijlani in a black lycra fit top and a sarong………….wait is that a SARONG on the red carpet…………….there you have another fashion disaster. The see through effect caused by the camera lights and the sarong which is better off for pool parties do make Sangeeta guilty of bad fashion choice. Such a pretty face…………..such bad styling….sigh

Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia came in hand-in-hand at this party where Mehr wore ‘Herve Leger’ bandage dress in peach while Arjun kept it simple in a blazer. Mehr had me on the color simple she either opts for black or white. This color choice is a pleasant surpise……..Love this appearance by her where the dress obviously takes all the attention and the accessories are kept simple.

Whats ‘IN’ – Menswear this Wedding season

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on November 3, 2011

Fashion is quite often focused on what women wear, but we do tend to ignore how the men can be styled better. In India, men have just started getting more conscious about what they wear, how they dress up, grooming & styling themselves. Like every year, I write about Bridal couture……………..so this time around I thought why not write about what fashion is ‘IN’ for the men this festive season as the months of November & December are floored with weddings in India.

Monochrome prints

Monochrome literally means a design in a single color or combination of single colors to form a design or a print. recent trend which one can see would be velvet cut-out on silk or fabrics alike. The prints are often symmetrical are look best when used as a dinner jacket, coat, bandhgala or a Sherwani. Avoid monochromatic prints for trousers, go subtle on this print. Too much is a recipe for fashion disaster.

Incorporate ‘Stole’ in your wardrobe

Stoles are big this winter season…………..thankfully they are not limited to western wear only. Indian designers have taken out the dupatta and replaced the style with a shorter version i.e. a stole. Drape it on the shoulder, wear it around the neck with the Jodhpuri jacket, wrap it in a knot  or tuck it in your blazer.

Don’t be afraid of color

Guys tend to play it safe when it comes to dressing up for any occassion. Add color to your style and say ‘Hello!’ to a new you. Try adding color in smaller amounts at first, once you are comfortable go bold with it. Keep the base of your outfit plain while adding color in form of a stole, print or detail work. Check out few looks above & below to convince your that color can be good for your style.

F1 Rocks After Party

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on October 31, 2011

The buzz of Grand Prix Formula one is on a high in India with the opening of Lap Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. It is for sure a glorious moment for racing sports in India and to celebrate this event UTV stars had organised the After-party at the racing venue. Lady Gaga was there to entertain the guests which had the creme-de-la-creme of the Page 3 world. We had to get the glimpse of red carpet to you………..

Deepika Padukone was all sparkle on the red carpet at this event and looked ‘H-O-T’………the sequin dress with a nude open toe heels and a tiny clutch. The hair, the dress, the shoes…………………love the look for such a fashionable event.

Perky Sonam Kapoor came in with designer Manish Arora wearing one of his designed creations. I am for sure not digging this look since the sequin dress is paired with golden leaf earrings…………..it is somewhat appears like a mis-match. The look was vintage inspired, but a more demure look would have suited the theme of the event. The pretty dress ought to have been paired with a crystal neck piece or eye-catching accessory. Though Sonam This is too plain on the lovely Sonam…………..sigh.

King Khan who must be definitely on a high post the success of Ra.One, looked pretty tired when he came to this event. Wonder the travel promoting his film did take a toll on him………….he is in a 3 piece black suit……….same old in black………..SRK please give us some color.

Preity Zinta also went the sequin mode with satin gloves…………now tell me who wears a satin gloves these days?? Even Brides have chucked this accessory………PZ wanted to make a style statement but sadly this look falls flat. Wish she would have donned a gothic look to rock the red carpet.

Lady Gaga performed at the after-party wearing a ‘Tarun Tahiliani’ outfit and a veil………………this outfit which has been seen in a saree version on the red carpet, was modified in a shorter version. But the net stocking with the ankle-length boots………let’s face it with Lady Gaga, nothing should be surprise people anymore.

Bipasha Basu came in a Falguni-Shane Peacock outfit which had a trail behind……………Like the short version from the front, but the trail seems unnecesary. The hair would have looked better in a pulled back look………I do appreciate Bips for the fact that she experiments with her outfit choices and has the guts to flaunt it on the red carpet.

Actor Imran Khan made an appearance with wife Avantika where surprisingly Avantika took the limelight in the style section as Imran donned a sloppy look. The sweater with a tie and denims with a stubble are ‘no-no’ on the red carpet. Imran we love your look in a crisp suit, this one is way too lame. As for wifey, love the sophisticated look combined with a stylish animal print clutch.

Celebrity Sightings this Week

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on October 28, 2011

This week witnessed loads of celebrations due to Diwali festival and this week also saw a lot of celebrity sightings. Here is the best from the week.

Lady Gaga arrives in style

Lady Gaga has arrived in India as she will be performing at the Grand Prix, but what I love about her that she like a chameleon can adapt to any style………….one moment she is a rockstar, then suddenly she turns up at an event looking like a ‘Diva’. She did surprise me in this beautiful ‘Naeem Khan’ designed one shoulder gown…………she looked splendid while she flaunted in this outfit accessorized with diamond jewelry and ‘vintage’ look sunglasses as she attended a press conference in New Delhi. Love, love. love…………

Kareena Kapoor unveils her wax statue at Madame Tussauds

Kareena Kapoor unveiled her wax figure at Madame Tussauds in London. The figurine was dressed in ‘Jab we Met’ avatar and definitely is a high-point in her career to be recognized internationally as well.

As for me, I still think the original one looks much prettier in her ‘Manish Malhotra’ saree………groovy baby.

Ekta Kapoor’s Diwali Bash

Kangana Ranaut took some inspiration from the 1960s to dress up in this peach ‘gotta’ work saree with side swept hairdo and a mini ‘Birkin’………..all the beautiful things put together unfortunately fell flat. Next time skip the bag and opt for a classy clutch. A bit of drama helps but too much of it actually spoils the look.

Someone seemed to be in some hurry………….Tusshar Kapoor was seen attending this bash in a olive green bandhgala which seemed way to body fit………Go easy on the fit, we don’t want celebrities gasping for fresh air due to tight clothes……:-)

Sophie Choudry is definitely emerging to be my favorite on the red carpet……she wore this fabulous ‘Sabyasachi’ gown to the bash and looked absolutely flawless. The understated Bottega Veneta clutch with strappy shoes complete her Anarkali look.

Samir Soni and Neelam did look color co-ordinated except for the jazzy big clutch. Though I  like her shimmery shoes……….

Spotted designer Nandita Mahtani in this hot pink saree with floral detail all over. Love the saree, hate the way it is draped and accessorized……..sigh.

Bachchans throw a Diwali Bash

Bachchan’s held a Diwali party at their residence in Juhu where many celebrities made their way to attend this event. Among the invitess were Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sonali Bendre, Raveena Tandon, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Simi Garewal, Zayed Khan and many more. But what was good, that we people got to have a sneak peek of mum-to-be Aishwarya welcoming guests.

RA.One premieres in London

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on October 26, 2011

RA.One arrived at London as well with King Khan and his team walking down the red carpet for the premiere of the movie. It is the first Bollywood movie to be released overseas in 3D. Now that is an achievement in itself. No matter what critics might say, I feel people should go ahead and watch every movie. Thereafter you be the judge about the film, since there is alot of hardwork and effort put behind any movie. For now enjoy the photos of the London premiere.

Shahana wore a pink one shoulder gown in which the drape of the gown fell flat, but neck up I feel Shahana looked very pretty with those dangling traditional earrings and side swept hair. Though I did like her look at the RA.One Dubai premiere much more than this one. Will wait for the Toronto premiere to see her walk the red carpet once again.

Shahrukh Khan added a muffler this time around to his tuxedo which gave a very mature vibe, wish he would have walked the red carpet in a bandhgala or Jodhpuri jacket. This look has been seen so many times till now……………..need to see something new.

Kareena Kapoor all dressed up in a black D&G gown though the big bow was an eyesore, but that is just me. Kareena did look sexy in this outfit and this is quite a change from her saree clad looks which one gets to see her at most events. Like it……absolutely.

Arjun Rampal has been my favorite celeb who will make it to the list of best dressed celebs. A formal suit and a clean shave look works for me, what about you??

RA.One Premiere in Dubai

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on October 25, 2011

Ra.One finally releases on Diwali day but King Khan held the premiere at Grand Cineplex in Dubai. Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Shahana Goswami along with child actor Armaan Verma & the crew walked the red carpet at this event. Here is your look at the star studded event…………I am all eyes for Kareena Kapoor’s saree designed by Manish Malhotra.

Celebrity Sightings this week

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on October 21, 2011

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Baby Shower

Jaya Bachchan welcomed every guest for Aishwarya’s baby shower which was held at the ‘Bachchan’ residence in Juhu. She was seen wearing this beautiful pastel-golden motif saree [my guess Abu-Sandeep]. Love the saree though the hair needed a bit of help…………..on second thought since it was an event at her residence, so whatever complaints I have gets compensated by her graceful saree…….:-)

Bipasha Basu was seen wearing a ‘Manish Malhotra’ creation in pink & white…………..she did look gorgeous, love her hair but what was an eye-sore was Karan Johar dressed in oversized denim shirt and pants. A kurta would have done better work……………but the ceremony was meant for ladies, so can let Karan go off the hook for now.

Twinkle Khanna definitely knows how to dress for any damn occasion…………she looks stunning in this Abu-Sandeep designed kurti-churidhar along with a ‘Chanel’ bag and peep-toes. Two thumbs up for Twinkle who has always opts for classic pieces. A color like this would have not worked otherwise on someone else……………Twinkle simply rocks in it.

Neetu Kapoor also came in dressed in Abu-Sandeep outfit, Do I need to say anything about this beautiful woman who still looks charming at any given time…………….elegance, grace and poise……….Neetu surely has it all.

Also spotted at the event were Neelam and Manyata Dutt…………Neelam looks pretty in a blue-green kurti-churidhar, I do like Manyata’s peach saree but neck up the story is entirely different. Wish Manyata would opt for a new hairdo and avoid chunky jewelry even if they cost alot of moolah.

Designer Neeta Lilla along with her daughter Nishka in their own creations. The Kalamkari saree from Neeta’s recent collection looks amazing on her plus the chunky neckpiece works well with the outfit. Though wish to have a better pic of Nishka……

Poonam Sinha Also made an appearance at the ceremony in a green saree combined with a purple blouse…………Poonam has surely made color blocking work for her. Like this simple look of hers…….

It is not so often that one gets to see Saira Bano at events, but she did come to the ceremony in a red saree looking graceful as ever. I strongly feel that today’s actress lack elegance which was seen in yester-year actresses. Sigh……..

Spice Mobile Launch

Sonam Kapoor who is the brand ambassador of ‘Spice Mobiles’ was seen at it’s recent launch of mobile phones. Clean lines with this dress which she prepped up with a blue bib necklace & braided hair. She managed to look flawless especially after her black gown debacle. Good to see her bounce back with such a charming look.

Rockstar Promotions

Ranbir Kapoor and co-star Nargis Fakri have been busy promoting their upcoming movie ‘Rockstar’ in various cities. Seen here in a more traditional avatar of patiala salwar and kurta on both of them. If I had to pick one look it will have to be Ranbir’s attire in a khadi kurta with silk salwar and the ‘Ray-bans’. As for Ms. Fakri, the short A-line kurti with a patiala salwar is just too much of mess happening.

Johnnie Walker Jet Black party

Caught Bipasha basu partying the night with pal Deanne Pandey at Johnnie Walker Jet Black party held in Mumbai. Bipasha wore a Falguni-Shane Peacock creation in black which was the party theme color. She looks smoking hot in this sexy attire…….all heart for this look.

Schokolaade Launch at ‘Anita Dongre’ flagship store

‘Schokolaade’ desert cafe was launched at Anita Dongre’s flagship store in Bandra with Abhishek Bachchan as the ’guest of honor’ along with celebs like Sangeeta Bijlani, Sonali Bendre, Sameera Reddy, Gayatri Oberoi, Pria Kataria Puri and host of others. In case you are tired shopping at the store, hop in at Schokolaade for a quick munch…….:-)

Abhishek Bachchan looke dapper in white shirt with denims but I wish he would appoint a stylist who tells him that a stubble is not always fashionable.

Our pick of Day 4 of WIFW

Posted by Indian Fashion Police on October 13, 2011

Day 4 had me confused with eminent designers, few which were also my favourite were to display their creations on the runway. But after seeing the collection, Atsu Sekhose’s collection comes out as a clear winner. The beautiful floral detail work on sheer fabric looks absolutely stunning. Yellow might just be the ‘new white’ this summer season as one might get to see in Atsu’s creations as well. Here is what the alluring collection looked like.
